GREEN, Paul
Small Archive
Chapel Hill, 1951. A small archive of material from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green and his wife Elizabeth to Gregg Sinclair, President of the University of Hawaii, comprising three Typed Letters Signed and thirteen custom-printed Christmas cards, of which but three are Inscribed with an additional sentiment. The letters, dated September 14, 1951 through December 22, 1952, detail Green's visit to Hawaii as part of his study of international drama, music, and dance. The holiday greetings, dating from 1957 through 1970, become increasingly more elaborate. Beginning in 1958 the Greens composed an original verse for the holidays which, for several years, they set to music. One early letter has some modest foxing else all items are fine in a custom cloth clamshell case. [Attributes: Signed Copy]
