1790. [FRENCH REVOLUTION - POLITICAL PUBLICATIONS - PAMPHLES] Antoine-Francois LEMAIRE 1758-18 .. Journalist; librarian; printer-bookseller. Native of Montargis (Loiret). Paris Post Clerk. Member of the Jacobins. Published from 1789 or 1790. Close to the Girondins from 1792. Member of the Paris electoral assembly from Sept. 2, 1792; elector of the Four Nations section. Editor and collaborator of several revolutionary newspapers. On August 16, 1792, he founded the "Courrier de l'Égalité", in which he collaborated until August 1793. Appointed Dec. 9 1793 librarian in Bergerac (Dordogne), where he seems to have lived in the time of the Terror. Returning to Paris in 1794 or 1795, he resumed his activities as a journalist: from June 19, 1795 to May 6, 1796, editor of the "Journal du bonhomme Richard"; from Oct. 10 to Dec. 3 1797, editor of the "French Patriot" ... Editor of "Citoyen français" (Nov. 15, 1799 - Oct. 17, 1804).
