AGATHA CHRISTIE - ONE TWO BUCKLE MY SHOE (published in the U.S. under the title "The Patriotic Murders"), published by Collins, copyright 1940, FIRST PRINTING (says "Copyright -- Printed in Great Britain -- 1940" on copyright page with no references to subsequent printings, lists to "Sad Cypress" on list of Christie books to left of title page, redish orange boards with black lettering on spine, 1 ad page for other recently Collins Crime Club books from other authors, correct 1st state DJ with reviews for her last 3 books (Sad Cypress, Ten Little Ni**ers, and Murder is Easy) to rear flap. THIS WAS ONE OF THE LAST OF THE "SEMI-THICK" UK COLLINS AGATHA CHRISTIE BOOKS - LATER BOOKS WOULD BE THINNER DUE TO PAPER RESTRICTIONS DURING WWII. VERY VERY RARE PRE-WW II BOOK TO FIND IN ITS ORIGINAL DJ. Book has just a couple of creased page corners, no former ownership markings or used book store marks/stamps/stickers inside, clean endpapers - no tape staining or markings (tiny bit of evidence of moisture exposure causing the orange cloth color to slightly bleed at the tops to inside boards - doesn't affect pages), no foxing to pages, endpapers or outer page edges, slight age darkening/dust soiling to outer page edges, no internal spine splits, no spine lean, tight white pages with sharp corners, no wear to board edges or corners or spine tips, no spine fade (just bit of fading corresponding with DJ chipping), slight handling soiling with couple of tiny water spots to boards but no significant stains or discoloration spots, bright red boards, no wear/loss … [Cliquez ci-dessous pour une description complète]
