Signed by the illustrator. The Bells and Other Poems signed by the French born artist, Edmund Dulac. Large heavy format with white velum covers. Edmund Dulac designed gilt cluster of bells on the front cover. The rear cover is marked and the spine is gently rubbed. Top edge is gilt with others uncut. This edition contains 28 tipped in colour plates (including the frontispiece) which are protected by captioned tissue guards. Poe's portrait is on the title page. The contents are clean and bright with light toning to the end pages and some foxing to the tissue guards. Signed by the artist on the limitation page. Missing the silk ties. (external 26.5 x 31.5cm). Signed by Illustrator. Approximately 12 ¼ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine – good condition – gilt titles and decoration, worn and gently faded. Joints – good condition – sound, gently rubbed. Corners – good condition – gently bumped and worn. Boards – good condition – gilt decoration and titles to the front board, plain vellum marked to the rear, slightly marked, the boards are curving out slightly as is often the case with vellum. Page edges – good condition – top edge gilt slightly darkened, others uncut. See above and photos. Internally Hinges – good condition – sound. Paste downs – good condition – plain.
