One of 850 numbered copies on "Vélin Saint-Vincent-De-Blanzat Des Papeteries." This copy number 731. Plates four, six and thirteen are after Man Ray, and the frontispiece portrait of Serge Lifar is by Picasso. Ukranian-born French ballet dancer Serge Lifar was a principal dancer for the Ballets Russes who held the post of ballet master at the Paris Opera from 1930-1944 and 1947-1958. Accompanying the text are sixty striking illustrations from photographs of Lifar in his various ballet roles from 1924 to 1932. CONDITION: Very good, light wear to wrapper edges; loss to lower right corner of glassine at front wrapper, as well as some loss to edges. Item #5878.
