Contemporary vellum, raised bands and early hand-lettered title to spine reading Supplement a l'Ordonnance de 1667, fragments of thong ties to boards. Light spotting and a few minor stains to boards, faint illegible doodle to front board, chip to head of spine, corners bumped and somewhat worn, rear hinge cracked, two early owner inscriptions to front free pastedown. "1735 du Fevrier pr[emie]r." in small tiny hand to title page. Moderate toning, slightly heavier in places, text in fine neat hand (with a few calligraphic flourishes), contemporary annotations in different hand in a few places. ,500. * This manuscript has four parts. The first three address aspects of the Ordonnance Civile. Also known as the Code Louis or Ordonnance de 1667, this is a comprehensive code that reorganized French civil procedure in a uniform manner. The first title discusses the code "according to the usages of the Parlement of Toulouse." Its careful arrangement of the text, few corrections and presence of a title page and table of contents suggest this is a copy of a book that circulated in manuscript.
