Good condition. 1617 King James RARE Octavo Bible - Printed in London by Robert Barker.See pictures. Herbert reference #354, 100% complete. Old and New Testament title pages are present. Imprinted at London by Robert Barker, Printer to the King's Most Excellent Majesty, 1617. Ultra rare octavo size king James pocket bible measuring at 6.5" x 4.5". Bound in 1700's Full calf leather binding with gold lines and blind stamped corners. Contains the woodcut illustrated genealogies, double page map of Canaan, old and new testaments with the apocrypha, both title pages dated 1617, and Colophon also dated 1617. The corner of one page in genealogies is torn with loss but loosely supplied in facsimile. Also a corner of one page in Psalms torn with loss of a few words. Bible has 2 poems (printed and manuscript) on front pastedown and flyleaf. Bible also has a full page of family history of the "Champnos"? Family from the 1700's. Bible also has signature of Herbert Noel-Fox. Bible also has a notation that it was party of the "Cromwell Collection" and was owned by a Wesleyan Minister who was a direct descendant of Oliver Cromwell. Very few octavo size 1617 King James pocket bibles were printed. To find one that is totally complete with the woodcut genealogies and the ultra rare double page map of Canaan is almost unheard of.
