"Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world." ― Voltaire This illustrated, 1785 two-volume example is a fine, complete example of Voltaire's study on Isaac Newton. While Voltaire was in exile from Great Britain, he became strongly influenced by the works of Isaac Newton. Voltaire strongly believed in Newton's theories, especially concerning optics and gravity. This prompted Voltaire to write a book entitled 'Elements of Newton's Philosophy', which made Newton accessible to a far greater public.
