New York: Privately printed for An American Place, 1931. Limited ed. Hardcover. Very Good +. 7 x 10 in. Gray cloth boards. Limited edition of 400 copies, this is numbered 343 on the limitation pg. Only the first 50 copies of that edition were signed, but this copy is signed with and inscription by Marin on the half title pg. Inscription is to a Maine friend; inscription reads: "to Stanley Clifford, write some more, John Marin." Condition of book is VERY GOOD+ ; covers extremely clean with minimal shelf wear, edges a touch toned. Spine is not toned, with gilt titles bright. Front gutter has a few foxing speckles. Binding tight and text very bright and clean. PO's small bookplate on front pastedown. PO also kept a B&W snapshot of Marin's modest house in downeast Maine, which is included. Boards have a Mylar wrapper. Art. RGR.
