BYRON, John
1780 Byron VOYAGES Patagonia South America Shipwreck Wager Mutiny Liechtenstein
London: for S. Baker and G. Leich [sic] ... and T. Davies, 1780. I am limited to 12 photos on eBay, but I have many more photos on my website...just ask. Byron VOYAGES Patagonia South America Shipwreck Wager Mutiny Liechtenstein John Byron was an 18th-century British Royal Navy officer known for his world circumnavigation, his battles in the Revolutionary War, and his authorship of 'Narrative', a personal memoir of his adventures at sea. This work, which provides an important perspective on the famous Wager Mutiny, describes Byron's arrival on the Patagonian coast and his rise to Commander during the Revolution. 'Narrative' features a charming frontispiece of Patagonian locals; people groups that Byron encountered when he was chosen to explore South America in search of a settlement for British naval base.
