Mervyn Peake - The Gormenghast Trilogy - Eyre & Spottiswoode, First Editions
1946. Mervyn Peake - The Gormenghast Trilogy [comprising] Titus Groan, Gormenghast and Titus Alone - Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1946-1959, First Edition. London, Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1946-1959. First Editions. First Impressions. Hardbacks. A near fine set. Three [3] volumes, complete. Far better than most commonly seen. One of the most unique and influential works of speculative fiction. In Cawthorn and Moorcock's 100 Greatest Fantasy books [p137]. Each is the correct first impression. Neil Gaiman is purportedly developing a TV series. Volume one is a touch browned to the spine and rear of the jacket. Volume two has some crushing to the top of the spine accompanied by a few short 1-2mm tears. Volume three has light foxing to the fore-edge and some offsetting to the endpapers. Spine tips of all volumes lightly pushed, lower board edges a little rubbed from the shelves. An excellent set. Cover art by Mervyn Peake [7777, Hyraxia Books]. All items will be packed in bubble-wrap and either a cardboard book-wrap or a box where appropriate. All photos are of the actual item for sale. Further photos can be provided. Returns accepted; buyer pays for return unless we're at fault. [Hyraxia Books, 7777].
