1795. The Holy Bible ... Old and New Testaments Diligently compared and revised By His Majesty's Special Command Published / Printed MDCCXCV (1795) by Mark and Charles Kerr, His Majesty's Printers, EDINBURGH Bound in leather hard covers, 8 1/2 x 10 1/4". Sturdy covers with no hinge cracks, small tear to leather at lower spine. Moderate cover surface wear as shown. Leather is not dried or flaky. Interior pages show scattered age spotting / foxing and areas of use stains. First several pages of the book have edge creases and tears; appears most of text at edges is wrinkled / preserved. There is no writing or pages for a family history, a little embroidered book mark was tucked in and will accompany the Bible. This Bible calls for and contains the Books of the Old Testament, Apocrypha, and New Testament. At the end of Revelation are index pages An Account of the most remarkable Passages... Then an Alphabetical Table of the Proper Names with the meaning or signification. Then Tables of: Weights and Measures; Money; Offices and Conditions of Men; kindred and Affinity.
