Magnificent copy of this shirt from the collection "Modes et Manners of Today", the publication of the best of the fashion of the beginning of the XXth century, by the artists having made it, at the height of their art. The project is led by Pierre Corrard, writer and editor of great talent. To accompany the artistic and clothing Révolution of the Roaring Twenties, he published, in 1912, a first shirt, with illustrations by Georges Lepape. In front of the reception given to this first publication, he decides, each year, to propose an identical shirt, with different authors and artists. Stopped during the war, the publication resumed in 1919, and it is again Georges Lepape who will compose illustrations showing his vision of these years of war, on a text by Henry-Jacques. The illustrator will indeed propose, in what is akin to twelve "stations" (mobilization, permission, alerts, victory), the daily life of the woman, remained behind while her husband is at the front. This shirt looks like all the others in the series: under a strong cardboard box, the first flat of which is stamped with only titles and years, with, in its center, a color illustration, the boards take place in a set of four flaps made of the same paper as that illustrating the counterguard, and whose motif was drawn by the artist making the interior boards.
