DIONIS, Pierre
1714. I am limited to 12 photos on eBay, but I have many more photos on my website...just ask. An early, revised and expanded edition of a popular work on the surgery techniques and practices. This work, 'Cours d'operations de Chirugie' by Pierre Dionis, is filled with illustrated engravings of surgical procedures and tools. It also includes illustrations of the Royal Garden. Pierre Dionis was appointed by Louis XIV to teach surgical medicine in Paris at the Royal Garden. This book outlines many of the lectures and demonstrations he gave while teaching. Dionis is credited with challenging William Harvey as the physician who actually discovered the circulation of blood. [Attributes: First Edition]
