A.A. Milne
CHRISTOPHER ROBIN WINNIE THE POOH BOX SET MILNE, SANGORSKI & SUTCLIFFE 1932-33
New York: E. P. Dutton, 1933. Very Good. Complete set of the Christopher Robin books in Sangorski and Sutcliffe's prized bindings, with box. E. P. Dutton, New York, later printings: When We Were Very Young, July 1933; Winnie The Pooh, July, 1933; Now We Are Six, July 1933; The House at Pooh Corner, November, 1932. VG+. The bindings were done in acid-free polished teal calf leather which remains strong and supple along the joints. Light wear to edges of leather. Spines faded with light wear. Bindings are strong. Full gilt-edged text blocks are remarkably clean and tight. There is a gift inscription on the front flyleaf of the first volume, otherwise the interiors are all pristine throughout and appear unread and untouched. The box shows edge wear and moderate soiling. The interior of the box is lined with a white velvety material that is moderately worn and heavily foxed. Box remains square and strong and continues to do its job in nicely preserving these treasured books in wonderful bindings meant to last through the ages. Free domestic expedited and insured shipping. Signature required upon delivery.
