Exquisitely bound in red full morocco and signed by 'Bayntun [Riviere]', Bath; five raised bands, the spine and compartment gilt-tooled, ruled and lettered; covers featuring gilt line and dotted roll panels with corner floral tools; front cover with a centred emblematic gilt design of a serpent entwining a goblet; board edges with a gilt-tooled line; elaborate inner gilt dentelles; marbled pastedowns and endpapers; all page edges gilt; half-title; title-page printed in subtle green and brown with floral border; leaves printed on one side [rectos], each with floral border surrounding the 110 quatrains and illustrations. Includes a coloured frontispiece & 19 other full-page tipped-in coloured plates with captioned guards. Condition: FINE. Absolutely immaculate condition. Without previous ownership markings.
