London: Eyre And Spottiswoode, 1970. A very rare and collectible edition book, complete with original box, THE HOLY BIBLE. Containing the Old and New Testaments translated out of the original tongues: and with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by His Majesty's Special Command. Authorised King James Version. Royal Sovereign Central References, Study Bible & Concordance. Red Letter Edition. India Paper. Gold Gilt Edges. Maps. Bound in original brown Goatskin, with Ostraleg grain, semi yapp edges. The Ostraleg grain is made from a cast of an Ostrich leg, which is then hand pressed onto the Goatskin leather, resulting in a unique and usual grain. This unusual binding among others was created during the 1970's/80's, where Eyre & Spottiswoode experimented with various new techniques. The book measures 14.5cm x 20.5cm. Please look at all the photos for the best understanding of the condition and contents. This book is vintage pre owned so there are some signs of age, use and wear. We try to be very particular with documenting any perceived flaws. The leather cover is in general good condition, no splitting, a few noticeable scuffs/scratches dotted around. Top and bottom of the spine show surface wear along the edges. The contents is in good condition, lightly used by previous owner, some corner folds and creasing dotted about. Blank end pages are yellowed slightly from age. The presentation pages, births, deaths, marriages etc are unfilled, and there are no previous owner inscriptions or writing/notes.
