Original vellum by Zaehnsdorf, spine lettered in gilt, covers richly panelled and decorated in gilt and blind, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. With the original card folding case. With 5 colour plates by Albert Rutherston and line blocks by Emery Walker; printed on Batchelor's Kelmscott hand-made paper. Light wear to case. A fine copy. Signed limited edition, number 26 of 106 copies signed by the illustrator Albert Rutherston and the writer of the introduction Harley Granville-Barker. A further 500 unsigned trade copies were also issued. The text is taken from the First Folio of Shakespeare, with some orthographic modernization. A very attractive production.
