Paris: J. Rothschild, 1876. Attractive binding, very nice copy of an uncommon antiquarian edition. Les Champignons (The Mushrooms) History, Description, Culture, Usage (in French) Paris 1876, J. Rothschild Text is in French. Contains detailed information on mushrooms, including a chapter on their culinary merits. Black binding with raised bands and gilt lettering to leather spine. Gilt page edges. 438 pages plus 60 color, tissue-guarded chromolithograph plates. Green silk bookmark sewn in. 7.5" x 10.75" weighing over 4 pounds. Title page has a tape repair; rear hinge has split but board is still safely attached; plates have small, neatly penciled numbers; occasional light foxing most prevalent on endpapers and pastedowns. Board corners are bumped, curled and have mild fraying, shelf wear. Otherwise a tight, straight edition in very good condition. This title is not eligible for combined shipping.
