The Stock Market Crash-and After By Irving Fisher Publisher: The MacMillan Company, New York, has 1930 on title page and copyright page, copyright page states "Set Up and Electrotyped Published February, 1930" (1st ed) Irving Fisher was the leading (see pic) economic theorist in the United States during the first half of the 20th century. Joseph Schumpeter, James Tobin and Milton Friedman described him as the greatest economist the country has ever produced. Indeed, there are economic concepts given his name such as the Fisher equation, the Fisher hypothesis, the International Fisher effect, the Fisher separation theorem and Fisher market. His work is bound in finished red cloth with blind stamped rule lines on the top board and gilded titles on the spine. The book measures 5.5" x 7.5" with 286 pages illustrated with charts and graphs. This copy has the front free end page cut away. A rare uncommon title, not many around - see, etc. Edition: The Macmillan Co. / Macmillan Publishing Co., Inc. (U.S.) Prior to the late 1800s, the date on the title page should match the last date on the copyright page for first editions (did not always designate later printings, but did change the date on the copyright page). Also, beginning sometime in the late 1800s, usually placed the statement "Set up and electrotyped. Published (Month, Year)" on first editions, and generally indicated subsequent printings.
