This set includes The French Revolution, Critcal and Miscellaenous Essays, Oliver Cromwell's Letters and Speeches, Chartism, Past and Present, Translations from the German, Musaeus, Tieck, Richter, Sartor Resartus, Lectures on Heroes, Friedrich Schiller, and John Sterling. With the armorial bookplate of S. F. Widdrington to the front pastedowns. Shallcross Fitzherbert Jacson was the nephew of Samuel Edward Widdrington (1787-1856) the writer on Spain. He inherited his estates and name. CONDITION In full cloth binding. Externally smart. There is some mild wear to the extremities. Some slight bumping, and the odd mark to the front and rear boards. Several of the hinges are just starting, but still firm. The rear hinge of volume 1 of the French Revolution is rather weak. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean, with some agetoning, and the odd spot mainly to the first and last pages.
