SENRYO, Kikuoka
1772 1st ed Japanese Woodblock Edo Guidebook Topography MAPS Kikuoka Senryo 9v
Edo: 1772. I am limited to 12 photos on eBay, but I have many more photos on my website...just ask. An interesting Edo and Meiji woodblock-print of 'Guidebook to Old Edo.' "Edosunago" is a magazine of the topography and guidebook of the Edo area written by Kikuoka Senryo, a haiku scholar. These nine volumes describe the area around the outer edges of Edo, Asakusa, Imado, and Sanya, Koishikawa, Shibuya and much more. It also describes the history of shrines and temples and famous places around Fukagawa, Honjo and Kokufudai. This rare 1772 first edition is written in a column handwritten format with furigana usage for easier reading. This edition contains excellent illustrations throughout of maps of Edo and surrounding areas! [Attributes: First Edition]
