1810's COPYBOOKS GRAMMAR SCHOOL ARITHMETIC IMLAYSTOWN, NJ RARE MATH MANUSCRIPT
1810. [IMLAYSTOWN NEW JERSEY, SCHOOL COPYBOOKS, EDUCATION, MANUSCRIPTS] On offer here is a unique and interesting ORIGINAL, PAIR OF 1810's - 1820's ARITHMETIC COPYBOOKS. The two manuscript copy books (one being 28 leaves, the other 8 leaves) measuring 7.75 in x 12.5 in, once belonged to a 'Robert Kirby' (1795 - 1858) who apparently lived in or very near Imlaystown, NJ. The copybooks have scores of math exercises and demonstrations of practical mathematical calculations worked out (purchases, measuring liquids, textiles, livestock, multiplication tables, etc.) in an effort to demonstrate the student's abilities to function in society. Also, laid in are several receipts and period notes (dated 1830's and prior) also placing these copybooks in the Imlaystown / Monmouth County area of New Jersey. We welcome potential buyers offering additional insight and information regarding this interesting pair of early American copybooks. Please email any questions -.
