THIS ITEM IS----one of so many great books i have on ebay right now, check them all out if you wish---here is something really interesting, it is a book and invitation, the book is Old Ironsides and was given out at a gala The Constitiution Ball in 1968. the book was signed by the Rear Admiral Roy D. Benson and was given to Richard D. Hill. the book is called OLD IRONSIDES: THE STORY OF THE USS CONSTITUTION by Thomas Horgan (1st ed. 1963), which is signed by Roy D. Benson, Rear Admiral, United States Navy, Commandant, First Naval District on May 24, 1968. The inscription is made out to "Mr. Richard D. Hill, with our thanks for you interest in the Navy and for being a "Yankee Gunner" of this year's Constitution Ball." Also included is the invitation card for the Constitution Ball which was for the benefit of The Navy Relief Society. The invitation includes the name of "Mister Richard D. Hill" and "Misstress Roy S. Benson" (the Rear Admiral's wife). The book was signed and given at the Constitiution Ball. See below for more info on both men.
