Condition These books are in good condition. This is the complete two volume set, printed by the Limited Editions Club in 1943. There no signatures, bookplates, markings of any kind. There is some rubbing to the outside boards. The books are clean and free of any foxing. The set comes with its rare original slipcase. The slipcase is in fair condition, one side is detached, but present. This is a Limited edition #861 of only 1000 copies signed by Boardman Robinson who illustrated these books. A hard to find copy of Melville's classic work Synopsis Moby-Dick is an 1851 novel by Herman Melville. The story tells the adventures of the wandering sailor Ishmael and his voyage on the whaleship Pequod, commanded by Captain Ahab. Ishmael soon learns that Ahab seeks one specific whale, Moby Dick, a white whale of tremendous size and ferocity. Comparatively few whaleships know of Moby Dick, and fewer yet have encountered him. In a previous encounter, the whale destroyed Ahab's boat and bit off his leg.
