England's Topographer or Moule's English Counties in the 19th Century by Thomas Moule Published by Simpkin & Marshall London, 1836 Scarce First Edition Complete in two Volumes Thomas Moule 14 January 1784 to January 1851 was most famous for his highly decorated series of English County maps, steel engraved and first published separately between 1830 and 1832 Beautifully and professionally re-backed with new leather spine and marble paper covered boards in very good condition, clean and bright with no marks or scuffing. Red title bands, gilt titles and raised bands to the spines. Previous owners' book plate to the front pastedowns. Pages are a little browned with minor foxing consistent with the books age although the contents are in remarkable condition. Containing a full series of English County Maps including a folding map of England And Wales, Town Plan Of London, and one of the Metropolitan Borough. The map of the Metropolitan Borough is present but a little torn. With 35 Maps to Volume One and 27 Maps to Volume Two All collated and complete. Vol 1 484 printed pages. Vol 2 582 printed pages.
