CAREY, Henry Charles
Miscellaneous Works of Henry C. Carey (1850-1868)
Philadelphia: Henry Carey Baird, 1868. Thick octavo. Dark green cloth boards. Volume title page (no date) and 15 pamphlets and longer works published individually from 1850 through 1868, each work with separate pagination and 13 with separate title pages and imprints. A scarce, early collection of Carey's influential works on American finance and trade, slavery, and Reconstruction. Carey was a leading economist of the American School and one of the founding fathers of American social science. Ex-library copy with spine letters, bookplate, number stamp, and small ink stamp on the first title page only, else no other markings. A very good clean copy that includes: "The Harmony of Interests; Agricultural, Manufacturing, and Commercial." (Philadelphia: Henry Carey Baird, 1868), "Letters to the President, on the Foreign and Domestic Policy of the Union." (Philadelphia: M. Polock, 1857-1858), "Financial Crises: Their Causes and Effects." (Philadelphia: Henry Carey Baird, 1864), and "Reconstruction: Industrial, Financial, and Political. (Philadelphia: Collins, Printer, 1867). A full list of all 15 works is available. Very Good. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
