A sensational event, it was the subject of several pamphlets. It was probably the first hanging to take place in Erie County, New York. In this edition the dying address is followed by an account of the trial and execution in verse. This imprint, which is listed in Cohen, is a variant of a copy in McDade, which has an image of a single coffin. See McDade, The Annals of Murder 972. Cohen, Bibliography of Early American Law 13088.
