Paris-Chez Lemoine Libraire, 1844. Book. The complete eight volumes of Jean-Francis Ducis' works. Eight volumes in four. In a small format, published as a part of the 'Bibliotheque en Miniature' series. In the original French. Jean-Francois Ducis was a French dramatistwho adapted Shakespeare's works. To these volumes there are poems and plays. Poems include his Epitres a L'amitie and Le Pont des Meres. Plays include his adaptation of Hamlet, Othello, Romeo et Juliette as well asOedipe a Colone. Thereis also a selection of hiscorrespondenceto volume 5. Condition: In a quarter calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with rubbing to the head and tail of spines and to the extremities. Further patches of light rubbing to the joints. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. PAges are generally bright with slight age toning to edges. Spotting throughout all volumes, heavier to some pages, particularly to pages 119-125 of vol 3 as well as to the first and last few pages of all volumes. Overall: VERY GOOD. Very Good.
