Kirsner, M.D. Item #401916 Roger was the first physician to present a comprehensive description of asymptomatic interventricular septal defect. "Roger drew attention to an important anomaly of the septum, interventricular patency ('maladie de Roger'), demonstrating the presence of a murmur in this condition. This is sometimes called 'Roger's murmur', although it had been noted by earlier writers" (Garrison-Morton-Norman 2782). This was translated in Willius & Keys, Cardiac Classics, 1941, pp. 624-38.
