Mr. Justice Holmes and the Supreme Court inscribed by Frankfurter
This 1938 hardcover was published by Harvard University Press in Cambridge, MA. This book is inscribed on the ffep: "For Edward C. Moran Jr. a high spirited public servant with all fond wishes of Felix Frankfurter" (there are a series of initials after the signature which we cannot decipher one set appears to be justice - he had just been appointed to the supreme court). Edward Carlton Moran Jr. was congressional representative from Maine 1933 - 1937 and active in Maine politics over his lifetime. There is a second gift inscription on the page "To Carl, with love from Rene April 19, 1939". This 3rd printing from 12/1938 after a first in 9/38 is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and internally unmarked. It is lightly rubbed at the slightly age darkened spine. It has 139, bright, clear pages bound in blue cloth covered boards with illegible titles on the spine.
