Binding: HARD BACK TAN Size: 7.75X10 69 Pages Overall Condition is: VERY GOOD Introduction Rhys, Ernest decorative borders, black and white illustrations throughout, corners bumped, cover age toned, gilt on cover, hinges slightly loose, tanned end pages, almost every page has a different intricate border. the Book of Ruth and the Book to Job, first published in 1896 are clearly his best works. His decorated borders showed a clear influence by Aubrey Beardsley, a fellow member of the New English Arts club and collaborator of MacDougall's wife, Margaret Armour, and William Morris and his Kelmscott Press. THIS WAS MY FATHER'S BOOK , IN 1967 HE COPIED ONE OF THE ART NOUVEAU BORDERS FOR OUR PRINCETON ANTIQUES BOOKSHOP'S STATIONARY.
