With a chromolithographic frontispiece and 12 further engraved illustrations. SIGNED by Lord Mayor Treloar in black ink to half title. Publisher's red cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt illustration to upper. Top edge gilt. A rare edition with only three copies found on COPAC. Browning to endpapers. Spotting to edges, preliminaries, and lightly throughout. Spine sunned; light rubbing to cloth. Very good. A special edition of the Christmas classic produced for the Lord Mayor of London (1906-07) in aid of his mayoral appeal for his Home for Crippled Children. The campaign was so successful that he was able to open Treloar College and Treloar School as well, both providing education for disabled children. The Treloar Trust continues to operate today, with each successive Lord Mayor of London appointed as a trustee. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
