AUTHOR'S COPY, ANNOTATED. A remarkable group of pioneering Indian ichthyological contributions by Francis Day (1829-1889), miiitary surgeon and fellow of the Zoological Society, whose major work, The Fishes of India, was published in four parts (1875-7). Day also published Fishes of Great Britain (1880-4), and British and Irish Salmonidae (1887). "In his journal articles and books Day had described some 328 new species of fishes" (ODNB). Comprising six works, all with occaisonal corrections and interleaving:: On the Fishes of Cochin, on the Malabar Coast of India. Parts I and II.
