1829 JEFFERSON Memoir Correspondence 1st Edtion Charlottesville w/Declaration
1829. Rare Four Volume Set of Memoir, Correspondence and Miscellanies of Thomas Jefferson. First edition, published by F. Carr & Co. in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1829 and edited by the president's grandson and executor Thomas Jefferson Randolph, later a Confederate colonel. Set was acquired from the library at Caryswood Plantation, Virginia. It is a complete 4 volume set. Books have original binding and untrimmed pages. Bindings are fragile but still in place. Title labels on spines are faint or not present. Heavy foxing with visible but not distracting moisture staining to cover boards. Volume 2 has a tear at page two but no missing text. Volume 4 still contains the facsimile reproductions of A Declaration by The Representatives of the United States in General Congress Assembled document (hand written with corrections). Many sets being sold have the Declaration missing. Set is in original condition and has never been rebound, repaired or altered. No writing or previous owners names. A tremendous and rare piece of American history. Books will be shipped via priority mail and requires signature. Any questions or if you need additional pictures, let me know.
