Salinger, J D
The Catcher in the Rye
Boston: Little, Brown & Co, 1951. First printing. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. Cloth in dust jacket, book itself very good plus with slight dulling to gilt on spine, no other notable defects, jacket very good plus, some expert restoration (professionally done, way above our pay grade) to spine head and top corners, truly visible only by examining the verso of the jacket, slight tanning to the cream-white areas of the front panel and the same to the lower half of the spine spine, with lightest rubbing, darkening along the fold of the rear flap, early issue with Salinger's head cropped close along top edge, Lotte Jacobi identified as the photographer, but with $3.00 price on flap not aligned with the 'shoulder' of the 'R.' The restoration was so beautifully done that we did not notice it despite close inspection when we sold this a week ago to someone (for more than it is listed here) who examined it and decided against keeping it. So here it is, lowered price but great condition! A real bargain at this price -- compare to other copies!
