A curious, elegantly printed souvenir of a major railroad company, Ferrocarril Mexicano displaying the works of two major Mexican notables, a poet and artist.-- Ledesma the painter, printmaker, sculptor, graphic artist, and Nervo, noted as one of the most important Mexican poets of the 19th century. Ledesma was only nineteen years of age when he produced a host of color lithographs herein, most with tissue guards. Nervo's poetry was known for its use of metaphor and reference to mysticism, presenting both love and religion, as well as Christianity and Hinduism. The poetry is embellished with decorative borders, printed in black, red and sepia on quality stock. Large fold-out map at rear, a map of Mexico with the routes of the railroad plus and itinerary and time table.
