printed for E. and C. Dilly, in the Poultry, London, 1775. Two volumes bound in full leather of the period, red leather spine labels lettered in gilt, edges rubbed and joints tender but holding; engraved frontispiece of Confucius to Vol. I, folding vocabulary sheet; folding map frontispiece to Vol. 2 with only slight wear, one other folding sheet with numerous images of silk manufactory, single sheet plate of catching waterfowl; appears to lack plate "Chinese trees and shrubs" in Vol. I, though it appears to have never been present; occasional light age toning on pages close to covers, otherwise minimal clean and unmarked; clean horizontal tear page 247/248 with no loss; both volumes bear the armorial bookplate of "Sr. Archibald Grant of Monymoske Bart." and both title pages the signature of James Grant at the top [Attributes: Hard Cover]
