Antoine François Fourcroy was an 18th-century French chemist who is best known for his role in the development of chemical nomenclature standardization. In his work 'Elements of Natural History', Fourcroy discusses principles of chemistry - analysis of gases, fluids, and solids and their applications and uses in medicines. He also covers combustion, calcination, and nitrates and alkalis.
