Octavo, 2 volumes, in very rare original boards, paper labels. In fine case. Write up of this exact book by Whitman Bennett in Publisher's Weekly is included, stating how in this copy page 71 is not numbered and how this might be an additional point to the first edition previously unknown. Both books signed by first owner Eliza E. Ridgely (first book dated on Feb 25, 1826) - 19 days after issue date of Feb 6, 1826. From Wikipedia: "Eliza Eichelberger Ridgely was an American heiress, traveler, arbiter of fashion, and mistress of Hampton, the Ridgely plantation north of Towson, Maryland. She is the Lady with a Harp of Thomas Sully's portrait, now in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.". [Attributes: First Edition]
