Moscow, publisher A. Roerich, an album with 25 illustrations with interior decorations and views of the Solovetsky Monastery were made in the technique of phototype. With 26 Stepan Grigorievich Runkevich exlibris, 25 are on each of the phototypes. The Solovetsky Monastery was created in the 15th century by the prayerful deeds and labors of the Monks Zosima, Savvaty and German. For five centuries, the monastery remained one of the most famous and revered shrines of Russia. The Transfiguration Monastery historically belonged to the entire Solovetsky Archipelago, on the islands of which there were monasteries and deserts. This album is a collection of rare photographs with views of the Solovetsky Monastery, made at the beginning of the last century. Stefan Grigorevich Runkevich ( 1867- 1924 ) - Russian church historian-writer, chief secretary of the Holy Governing Sinod. For condition see photos.
