1911. Covers have some wear and rubbing. Corners are rubbed. Some chipping to the spines, some have been professionally repaired. Some spots/marks to top page edges. A few volumes have splits at the seam. Pages are mostly very clean. Some page are uncut. Overall a very nice example of this set. The Works of Jules Verne in 15 Volumes ~ 1911 Illustrated Leather #63 of 300 The Works of Jules Verne in 15 Volumes1911 Illustrated Leather #63 of 300 Description The Works of Jules Verne Complete in 15 Volumes 1911 Illustrated Leather Bound Limited Edition #63 of 300 In 1911 Vincent Parke and Company of New York and London began to publish several limited editions of the Works of Jules Verne in 10 and 15 volume sets. These sets were limited in numbers as few as 26 to as many as 1000 with cloth or leather bindings. Each 15 volume set included 36 stories or short stories and 44 illustrations (the 10 volume sets are absent volumes 11 through 15). This set offered for sale is one of the more rare "Edition de l'Academie" 15 volume sets which was limited to just 300 numbered and signed (signed in volume one by the registrar R. G. Lancaster). It is bound in beautiful Grey Morocco leather with gilt stamping on the spines and front boards. This set also features green ribbon book markers, gilt top page edges with deckled sides and bottom. Each volume in this set also has two to four illustrations using black, green or a shade of sepia.
