Barrie] London:Chatto and Windus1919 (4th Impression) Approx Size: 4.75 x 6.75 inches (12 x 18 cms) Hardback. 85 printed pages Dust Jacket: Scarce original illustrated jacket. Large sections of loss to ends of spine. Wear and slight loss to corners, a couple of short tears to top edge\old tape repairs to reverse. Preserved in a removable jacket protector. Overall Condition is Good Book: Fourth printing, issued a few weeks after the first impression. Quarter black cloth with marbled boards. Paper title label to spine. Slight rubbing to board edges, slight fading to top edge of front board. Front free endpaper has been neatly removed. Light foxing to half title page and rear free endpaper, some small holes and rust stains to contents page and first page of preface, otherwise very clean throughout. Presentation copy from J.M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan, who wrote the preface for this work. Includes a hand written letter from Barrie on 'Glan Hafren' headed notepaper: 'Dear Miss..., in memory of our happy day at the pool. Yours sincerely J.M. Barrie, Iechyd da i chi.' Letter has a few rust stains where it was previously pinned to the book. Glan Hafren, on the banks of the river Severn, was the home of the Lewis family. Friends of Barrie since 1912, he regularly visited with Michael and Nico Llewelyn Davies in the school holidays during the great war. A wonderful ass … [Click Below for Full Description]
