PROVENANCE & ANNOTATIONS: Owner inscription and extensive technical annotations by Auguste Baron de Spiessen, probably dating to late 19th century. Recently owned by Richard E. Benton, an orbital mechanic at JPL who programmed some of the earliest interplantary probes launched by the human race to the outer planets. Laid in sheets include notes by both owners - near and far - in a serendipitously similar neat hand.
