n.d.. Oil Painting of Daniel Webster, 25” x 30”, attributed to American artist James Reid Lambdin (1807-1889), head-and-shoulders portrait, facing slightly left. Framed to 29.75” x 34.75”.<br /><br />An oil painting of Webster by Lambdin, a head-and-shoulders portrait of the “Great Orator” facing slightly right, similar in size, sold at Christie’s New York in 2010 for $6,675. From the Philadelphia History Museum at the Atwater Kent, it was sold to benefit the Collection Fund and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.<br /><br />The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., has a three-quarter face pose, facing left, oil painting of Webster, similar in size, c. 1850, attributed to Lambdin, in its Andrew W. Mellon Collection.<br /><br />The Smithsonian Institution’s American Art Museum Art Inventories Catalogue lists yet another Lambdin oil painting of Daniel Webster in the U.S. Capitol building, a head-and-shoulders portrait, facing slightly right.<br /><br />
