Susan Allix, a British book artist, has her own press and creates handmade books using a variety of fine papers and textures with letterpress printing and embossing, and is usually the author, illustrator, printer and binder of her works. One of her works was selected for the exhibit "Bookmarking Book Art", held at the Grosvenor Rare Book Room, and are in collections at The British Library, Yale University, National Gallery of Art Washington DC, The Claremont Colleges in California, the Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Alberta. The Song of Solomon is her second book, considered by many to be her finest work, and features biblical text accompanied by 21 original etchings and aquatints. "The Song of Solomon" or "The Song of Songs" or "Canticles" is the fifth book of Wisdom in the Old Testament, typically read on the Sabbath over Passover.
