Ioannis Dlugossii Annales, seu, Cronicae incliti Regni Poloniae. [Annalen oder Chroniken des berühmten Königreiches von Polen]., Liber Septimus. Liber Octavus (1 Vol.)

Varsaviae, Pánstwowe Wydawn Naukowe, 1975 - Umschlag leicht berieben, sonst gutes Exemplar. - Text lateinisch. E quibus prima a Dlugossio relata praecipue magni est momenti. Richard Lindner.

Paris Fernand Mourlot (1975) - Elephant folio. (38)ff. One of 150 copies. Contains ten lithographs measuring 28 1/2 by 20 3/4 inches, each signed by the artist, Richard Lindner, and numbered and counter-initialed by Fernand Mourlot, the printer/publisher who produced the lithographs. In his introduction, Ionesco describes Lindner as "one of the great contemporary masters. His work lies within the realm of caricature, painting, and theater. It is interpretation of reality, but reality is not realistic." Mourlot, who worked with all the great artists of the twentieth century, writes that Lindner created ten original gouaches and watercolors for this series, supervised the transfer to the stones, corrected the colors, retouched the plates, and oversaw the printing with such a perfectionist's eye that "only Marc Chagall forced us to run the plates so many times through the presses." An extremely fine copy, loose as issued, in a printed quarter-vellum clamshell box. [Attributes: Signed Copy]

Tributes to Robert Mitchner, Director of the Indiana University Writer's Conference

(1975). A collection of sixteen one-page tributes to Robert Mitchner, the founder of the Indiana University Writer's Conference. The tributes, in the form of text and sketches, are all on individual leaves, most measuring 10.75" x 14.5. All but three pages appear to have been removed from a stapled binding. The tributes to Mitchner, dating from his retirement in 1975, are by writers, artists, and instructors who attended the conference. They vary from simple notes and letters of thanks to poems and illustrations. Among the most notable contributions are an Autographed Note Signed by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., a Typed Letter Signed from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tad Mosel, an Autographed Note Signed from Roger Zelazny, and a Typescript poem with illustrations from children's author and Newbery Medal winner Jean Lee Latham.         PACIFIC (Board Wargame for 2 Players)

Wild Hawthorn Press, Scotland 1975 - PACIFIC - Type A & B - Board Wargame for 2 Players, multiple by Ian Hamilton Finlay. Unused copy. Folding Board, Counters, & Instruction Sheet as issued. Very unusually this copy comes with the original mailing envelope (which has some notes by receiver on verso & to front edge. What is interesting about the cardboard envelope is it has the rare PACIFIC - The Non-Scale Wargame red rubber stamp top left. I have also added the original Wild Hawthorn Press flier advertising the game (mimeograph on blue paper, folded as issued) to make this an overcomplete copy with associated ephemera. Boardgame in wallet - unused - fine as issued. (handling marks to flier, rubber stamped envelope worn & marked as previously mentioned but stamp in very good condition). To quote from the Stonypath flier that advertised the boardgame : Pacific is not intended to be a scale simulation but a distillation of the Pacific naval conflict in WW2. In our opinion, it is a game with a classic - one might say epic ! - simpilicity and a potential for tactical complexity and dramatic excitement.Pacific has the quality and originality of all publications issuing from the Wild Hawthorn Press. (Murray 7.8). [Attributes: First Edition]

[Archive]: A Collection of Six Vietnamese Silk Screen Posters

[No place]: Phong phu [?]. [circa 1975]. Six original silk screen posters. Each measures about 15.5" x 18.5". Each is printed in six colors vibrant colors: purple, burgundy red, orange, blue, green, and gold. A very few short tears at some edges, else fine. A suite of compelling images of young women in traditional informal dress, four of which depict a woman being courted by a young man, and two that depict a pair of young women working together outside: one in a rice paddy field and one at the ocean. Each poster has two lines of text. Our Vietnamese is rusty, but the two lines of text appear to be couplets from proverbial items of folk wisdom pertaining to the agonies or follies of budding love, or couplets from the erotic poetry of Ho Xuan Huong, a famous female Vietnamese poet from the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. In particular Huong's poem "Bailing Water" closely reflects the poster depicting two women on a rocky coast maneuvering a bail between them with ropes, that they are dipping into the water of a river as it flows into the ocean. A rare set of somewhat mildly suggestive charged propaganda posters. .

Previn's note hails "The only man who can discuss Prokofiev and take pictures of five children at the same time!!" while Farrow's reads, "Short hair / long hair, short again-- / two, three, four five children-- / one eight ten years-- / come back next year its always good to see my friend" Pen and ink on paper. Marginal binding holes, else fine

        Salem's Lot

Garden City: Doubleday. 1975. His second novel. Inscribed by King in the year of publication: "For ____, from your mother -- / I hope you enjoy it and have a Merry Christmas!/ Stephen King/ November 20, 1975." A small skinned spot on the front free endpaper makes this a near fine copy in a near fine, corner-clipped second issue dust jacket (with the printed price $7.95 and the reference to "Father Cody" in the flap text), with modest corner rubbing and a strip of offsetting to the rear panel. An attractive copy of this book, much better than usually found, and with the earliest King inscription we have seen in it. Early King books with contemporary inscriptions are extremely uncommon: the first printings were small and the books didn't sell particularly well. It wasn't until about 1980 that his books were bestsellers immediately upon publication. Also, King didn't do the extensive author tours that later became the norm for promoting books. First Edition. Hardcover.

Max Ernst: OEuvre-Katalog, 1906-1963. The Complete Paintings, Drawings, Sculpture, Frottages, Collages and Graphics. Volumes I- VI.

Houston, Tex.: Menil Foundation-2006 Distribution by Wittenborn Art Books. 1975 - Catalogue raisonné. 6 vols.: 288, 436, 418, 412, 398, 420 pp.; 656, 796, 774, 776, 743, 740 monochrome illustrations, respectively. Text in English, German and French. Catalogue descriptions in German with English language glossary. Cloth in dust jackets in cardboard slipcases. This set includes the volume on the graphic work.
