Jakob van Domselaer: Suite in C & Proeven van Stijlkunst, William Albright, Piano.

No printing place or date, but presumably 1971. LP Hors Commerce, one of 50 copies with an original woodcut by Asger Jorn to cover. Light edgewear, record near fine, well preserved.. 1. printing, one of only 50 copies : "Ce disque a été tiré a 50 exemplaires hors commerce la pochette est illustree d'une gravure originale sur bois d'Asger Jorn (1971)". "Jakob van Domselaer (1890-1960) was a Dutch composer. 1912, he traveled to Paris where he met the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian (1872-1944), eventually becoming a part of Mondrian's artistic circle known as "De Stijl." Domselaer's piano suite Proeven van Stijlkunst (Experiments in Artistic Style, 1913-17) represented the first attempt to apply principles of Neo-Plasticism to music, and Mondrian asserted that pieces were created under the influence of the plus-minus painting he created around the year 1915 (Blotkamp 1994, 159). This austere, mathematically based music represents an important but as yet unacknowledged precedent to minimalism" (Wiki). Matie Constant (Nee van Domselaer), daughter of composer Jakob van Domselaer, is married to Asger Jorn from 1951

The Witching Hour Vol 1 17, page 1 "The Little Witch Went to College"

DC Comics Inc, 1971. 16 x 10 inches. Fine. 16 x 10 inches. The Witching Hour was published for 85 issues from February-March 1969 to October 1978. The beginning of each of the comics featured three witches 'hosting' the tales in a similar fashion to Macbeth's Weird Sisters. The three witches, based on the archetypes of Maiden/Mother/Crone, Cynthia, Mildred, and Morded, guide the readers along with their humorous tendencies as in this issue when they go house hunting and prefer the smog and stagnant. Their characteristics are reminiscent of the Addams Family.

(Br. v. 29.
