Carl Andre - Robert Barry - Douglas Huebler - Joseph Kosuth - Sol Lewitt - Robert Morris - Lawrence Weiner. December 1968.

New York. Siegelaub / Wendler. 1968. First edition 1000 copies. 28 x 22 cm. 185 Blatt. OKarton. The \"Xerox book\" - I now would prefer to call it the \"Photocopy book\", so that no one gets the mistaken impression that the project has something to do with XEROX - was perhaps one of the most interesting because it was the first where I proposed a series of \"requirements\" for the project, concerning the use of a standard size paper and the amount of pages the \"container\" within wich the artist was asked to work\". [Vgl.         [Archive of Mail-Order Advertisements for Pornographic and Erotic Books, Photos, Films, Sex Aids, etc.]

Various places (principally Hollywood / Los Angeles and New York City): , 1968-1972. Various places (principally Hollywood / Los Angeles and New York City), 1968-1972. A collection of more than 60 brochures, flyers, order forms, and so forth, most with original mailing envelopes and many with all original inserts (return envelopes, etc.). Envelopes opened, occasional toning, wear. Most brochures folded for mailing, as expected. THE COMMERCE OF SEX THROUGH THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. Upon first-hand examination, it became immediately clear to us that the materials in this extraordinary archive such should have never been saved. Of the greatest interest to students and scholars of American sexuality and pornography, this collection provides graphic primary source materials documenting the principal method for the dissemination and purchase of such materials in the "snail mail" era. This is a highly curious collection of marketing materials from American mail-order pornographers during the height of the sexual revolution. Sent to a single recipient over the course of some four years, these flyers, brochures, and order forms (almost all still in their original mailing envelopes) offer a view into the sales methods of a wide array of publishers and producers of stag films, porn mags, photo sets, "marriage aids," erotic books, and the like. Publishers include: Omni, Betta Health Products, John Amslow, Academy Arts, Barbara Martine, Terri-Rene, Pacific Products, Artemis Books, Amboy Productions, Athena Books, Copa, Westrep, and many more. Most postmakred from expected major cities (Hollywood / Los Angeles, etc.), but many more regional (Atlanta, Miami) and small producers (Kent OH, Denton TX) also included. Despite recent favorable obscenity rulings, concern for censorship and prosecution still often in evidence, both veiled ("for educational purposes only") and overt ("IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE OPENING"), to more subtle (frequently changing addresses). Also present are two solicitations from Charles M. Keating (an infamous participant in the Savings & Loan scandal), seeking support for his porn-fighting "Citizens for Decent Literature." Interestingly, we find only a few explicit mailings that post-date these Keating solicitations.

The Penguin. (John Lennon in His Own Write. A Spaniard in the Works).

(Harmondsworth), Penguin Books, (1968). Original wrappers. 160 p. Illustrated by John Lennon. Reprint. Spine and upper cover partly discolored. Upper cover partly detached.l With an original signed drawing by John Lennon and the signature of Yoko Ono, on a card stapled onto the halftitle. It shows the well-known caricature of a bespectacled Lennon and smiling Ono.Drawing and signatures were obtained on March 28, 1969 by eleven-year-old Lorenzo Ledel, who accompanied his mother, Dutch journalist Emmy Ledel-Huf (1922-1992), to her interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their legendary Bed-In for Peace in the Presidential Suite at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel. Ledel-Huf's extensive interview was published in the local newspaper Het Parool (original newspaper clipping inserted in the book). The young Ledel, sitting on the edge of the bed of the world famous artists, obtained a total of ten signed cards. Shortly after, he sold these to his classmates for one guilder each. This is the last surviving card and the only card with a drawing. The large original drawing that Lennon gave to the boy on the same occasion has been lost over time... A very appealing relic, reminiscent of a great happening.

Carl Andre - Robert Barry - Douglas Huebler - Joseph Kosuth - Sol Lewitt - Robert Morris - Lawrence Weiner. December 1968.

New York. Siegelaub / Wendler. 1968 - First edition 1000 copies. 28 x 22 cm. 185 Blatt. OKarton. The "Xerox book" - I now would prefer to call it the "Photocopy book", so that no one gets the mistaken impression that the project has something to do with XEROX - was perhaps one of the most interesting because it was the first where I proposed a series of "requirements" for the project, concerning the use of a standard size paper and the amount of pages the "container" within wich the artist was asked to work". [Vgl.
