        The House at Pooh Corner

Methuen, London 1928 - First edition. Decorations by E.H. Shepard. Offsetting from the jacket flaps else fine in very near fine dustwrapper with a couple of tiny nicks at the crown, and a little subtle tanning to the spine. A book in which we learn the derivation of the game of Poohsticks; it is shown that Tiggers don't climb trees; and ultimately we leave Pooh and Christopher Robin in an enchanted place. Or perhaps it's the other way around. A lovely copy. See this book in 3D on our site. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

        The House At Pooh Corner

Methuen & Co. Ltd, London 1928 - 1928, 1st Edition. Publisher's original pink cloth boards with single gilt ruled border and gilt illustration to upper board and gilt titles to spine. The colour is very even and there does not appear to be any fading. The fore edge corners have small bumps and there are two tiny bumps on each bottom edge with a tiny but just visible mark between them across the bottom edge of the text block. There is a small bruise on the spine two thirds of the way down. There is a small, very light blemish on the upper board (half way between the characters and the top edge) and a very light blemish at the top edge of the rear board. The binding is very tight and square, the top edge being gilt. Internally, the pages are very clean and bright, other than a tiny mark at the edge of page viii. A very small booksellers sticker has been removed from the bottom of the front pastedown. Both the front and rear free endpapers have a 3cm band (relating to the section not covered by the dust jacket flaps) of acid migration. There is no bookplate, name or inscription. The original dust jacket is very good. It has a little dust darkening along the top edge of the front panel and two tiny closed tears of 2 & 3mm. There are some light soiling marks near the top edge of the back panel. There are very small chips at the spine tail and small loss at the spine head and adjacent joints. Overall, this is at least a very good condition copy of this Milne favourite. If you would like any further information or images, please do not hesitate to ask.
